Welcome to the BioCatalyst Participant Hub! This page serves as a central repository for program resources and will be updated throughout the program as new resources and opportunities become available.

Member Compass

As a BioCatalyst participant, you receive a complimentary Oregon Life Sciences membership, and the Member Compass portal is where you manage your profile, access your schedule, and connect with the broader life sciences community.

Your participant profile
We will use the information in your Member Compass profile to create a BioCatalyst participant directory, which may be shared with employers looking to connect with talent. This directory helps employers learn more about participants’ backgrounds, skills, and areas of interest. Please take time to complete and keep your profile up to date so it accurately reflects you. 

What you can do in the Member Compass
Once logged in, you can:

  • Edit and update your personal profile information

  • Register for classes and events, which appear under Upcoming Events

  • Track past classes in the Continuing Education tab.

  • Access the full Oregon Life Sciences Member Directory to explore companies and professionals across the ecosystem (available only to logged in members).

How to Access MemberCompass

  1. Go to the Oregon Life Sciences website.
  2. Click the green "Login" button in the top-right area of the website
  3. On the login page, click "Reset Password." (Even though you haven't set up a password yet, this is how you'll create one for your first login.)
  4. Enter your email address.
  5. Check your e-mail. You'll receive a password reset link
  6. Click the link in the email and create your new password
  7. Return to the login page and sign in with your email and newly created password
  8. You're in! You should now have access to the Member Compass portal

Important: Make sure to use the email address that Oregon Life Sciences has on file for your membership. If you're not receiving the password reset email, check your spam folder.

Virtual Workshop: Networking Your Way – Building Connections Without Changing Who You Are
Join Shelly Ridder for a virtual lunch & learn focused on building meaningful professional connections in a way that feels natural and authentic. The session breaks networking into practical, approachable strategies you can use right away, while staying within your comfort zone.

Bio on the Rocks

BioCatalyst participants are invited to attend Bio on the Rocks, Oregon Life Sciences’ winter networking event in Portland. This popular gathering brings together professionals, employers, and partners from across the regional life sciences community for an evening of connection and conversation.

The event includes informal networking along with a short program highlighting current industry and ecosystem updates.

Optional Pre-Event: OBW Gathering (Women in Life Sciences)
A relaxed, informal opportunity to connect with other women working in the life sciences prior to Bio on the Rocks.

Professional Headshot Opportunity:
Participants may sign up for a brief headshot session prior to the main event.

Virtual Career Fair

BioCatalyst participants are invited to attend a virtual career fair designed to connect participants with bioscience employers and provide practical guidance for the job search process.

The event will include a panel presentation and interactive workshop focused on industry insights and hiring expectations, followed by scheduled virtual meetings with employers.

Bio on Events
Bio On events bring regional life sciences communities together. These informal happy hours—Bio on Tap, Bio in the High Desert, Bio in the Valley, Bio on the Vine, Bio on the Rocks, and Bio in the ’Couv—offer relaxed opportunities to meet peers, strengthen connections, and grow the industry across Oregon and Southwest Washington.

OBW strengthens women's leadership in life science and invites anyone in the field who wants to support and advance inclusion to get involved.

Bio Impact
Bio Impact events are held throughout the year to connect, collaborate, and celebrate diversity within the bioscience community. These gatherings provide a unique opportunity to foster inclusion, share insights, and advance impactful initiatives. 

Program Policies

Attendance Requirement
To successfully complete the program, you may not miss more than 4 half-day classes. You must make up any missed class within one week by watching the recording and completing the related exercises. Staying current ensures you get the full value of the program. 

Active Participation
Active engagement is essential for success. Participants are expected to:

  • Attend all sessions on time and participate fully
  • Contribute respectfully to discussions, group activities, and workshops
  • Stay in communication with program staff if challenges arise
