OBW MENTORSHIP
Accelerating the Professional Development of Women in Life Sciences
Applications Now Open for the Oregon Bioscience Women Mentorship Program – Cohort 5
The Oregon Bioscience Women (OBW) Mentorship Program is excited to announce the launch of Cohort 5.
Designed to foster meaningful professional connections and support career growth across Oregon's life sciences community, the program pairs experienced professionals with emerging leaders for a structured seven-month mentorship experience.
Applications close July 11, 2026.
Eligibility
The program is open to individuals with a bachelor's degree or higher in a bioscience or related discipline, including professionals working in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, diagnostics, digital health, healthcare, academia, research, and other life science fields.
Program Expectations
Participants are expected to:
- Meet approximately once per month for one hour, either virtually or in person.
- Commit to active participation throughout the program duration (October–April).
- Maintain professional communication and follow through on agreed-upon meetings and action items.
To maximize the value of each mentorship session, mentees are expected to come prepared with topics, questions, goals, or discussion points, allowing mentors to focus their time on guidance, coaching, and sharing their experience.
Collaborative Learning Opportunities
In addition to one-on-one mentorship, participants will have access to several Mentorship Collaborative events throughout the program. These interactive sessions bring mentors and mentees together for discussions on mentorship best practices, professional development, leadership, career advancement, and other topics relevant to personal and professional growth.
These events provide an opportunity to expand networks, learn from peers, and engage with the broader OBW community.
End-of-Year Celebration
The program concludes with a complimentary in-person celebration in the Portland area, where participants can reflect on their mentorship experiences, strengthen connections, and celebrate the accomplishments of the cohort.
Whether you are looking to share your expertise as a mentor or accelerate your professional growth as a mentee, we encourage you to apply and join the next cohort of the Oregon Bioscience Women Mentorship Program.
Applications close July 11, 2026.
