Our Mission
The goal of our program is to attract and retain diverse talent through targeted recruitment and the elimination of barriers for those traditionally underrepresented in biomanufacturing. We aim to create a more inclusive and diverse talent pool, creating a workforce that is not only well-equipped with the necessary skills but that also represents a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives, fosters innovation, and drives industry growth.
Our Approach
To meet industry and community needs, we partner with employers, community organizations, workforce boards, and educational institutions. This collaboration creates a support system that empowers individuals to thrive in desirable roles while providing employers with diverse talent. We prioritize removing barriers, offering regular support, and enhancing retention through continuous engagement and development opportunities.
The Apprenticeship Model
The U.S. Department of Labor's research has found that Registered Apprenticeship programs offer numerous benefits, including:
- Attract high-quality applicants
- Enhance employee relations
- Provide national and state recognition
- Enhance workforce versatility
-
Decrease employer turnover
Let us do the Heavy Lifting
Employers in the Access Bio Apprenticeship Program can enjoy the benefits of a registered apprenticeship without the administrative burden. Oregon Life Sciences, as program administrator, handles outreach, recruitment, training plans, record-keeping, compliance, quality assurance, and support services for apprentices. This allows employers to focus on their core business while benefiting from a skilled and inclusive workforce.
