Oregon Biotech Caucus & Life Sciences Taskforce: OHSU Tour and Reception

The Oregon Biotech Caucus and Life Sciences Taskforce are invited to an engaging afternoon at OHSU’s Knight Cancer Institute, designed to showcase the groundbreaking work taking place at the forefront of cancer research and innovation. Attendees will also get a closer look at the diverse biomedical discoveries being made within OHSU’s research mission.

The program will begin at 1:30 pm with a warm welcome and informal gathering, offering attendees time to connect before the program begins. Opening remarks from institutional and legislative leaders will set the stage for the afternoon.

At 2:00 pm, attendees will hear brief presentations on the unique research enterprise anchored at OHSU, valuable projects taking place between public and private partnership, insights into scientific advancements, and the patient perspective and clinical impact. This session will provide an opportunity for dialogue around the future of life sciences in Oregon and the role of public-private collaboration.

By 3:00 pm, guests will embark on a guided tour of OHSU Knight Cancer Institute’s Center for Experimental Therapeutics and Precision Biofabrication Hub and the Pacific Northwest Center for Cryo-EM. Participants will be divided into small groups to see the facilities’ cutting-edge labs and transformative technology making new discoveries possible. The tour will highlight OHSU’s pioneering and collaborative approach to strengthen the connection from the lab to the bedside.

The afternoon will conclude with a networking reception from 4:00–6:00 pm, featuring appetizers and refreshments, and offering attendees the chance to continue conversations, build connections, and foster partnerships within Oregon’s growing biotech community.
