2026 Keynote Speaker
Shereef Elnahal, M.D., M.B.A., President of Oregon Health & Science University
We are pleased to announce that Shereef Elnahal, M.D., M.B.A., President of Oregon Health & Science University, will deliver the keynote address at the 2026 OLS Annual Conference on September 24. A leader in large-scale health care delivery, Dr. Elnahal previously served as Under Secretary for Health at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs — the nation's largest integrated health system — overseeing care for 9 million veterans. He now leads OHSU, Portland's largest employer, with a $6.2 billion budget and more than 22,000 employees — an institution whose momentum was underscored shortly after his arrival when the Knight Cancer Institute received a historic $2 billion gift from Phil and Penny Knight. He holds an M.D. and M.B.A. from Harvard.
